  • Bread Halwa (RTE)
  • White sandwich bread
    300g
  • Ghee
    120g
  • Sugar
    200g
  • Whole milk
    300g
  • Cardamom powder
    4g
  • Cashews
    30g
  • Raisins
    20g

Method

    Remove bread crusts; tear into rough pieces. Soak in milk for 5 minutes until soft.

    In a thick-bottomed pan, melt ghee; fry cashews and raisins until golden, remove and set aside.

    Add soaked bread to the pan; cook mashing continuously on medium heat. Add sugar gradually.

    Continue stirring and adding ghee tablespoon by tablespoon until the halwa leaves the sides and turns glossy.

    Finish with cardamom, fried cashews, and raisins. Rest 5 min before serving.
